Taking part in dry January could save you money

Thousands of UK citizens are taking part in dry January, opting to give up alcohol for the entire month, completing this challenge can help people to feel better, raise money for charity and also to save money. Research by Macmillan Cancer Trust shows that the average drinker spends at least £750 per year on alcohol, for many this amount is equal to more than that, with some reporting that they spend at least £6 per day on a bottle of wine, which is a huge £186 per month!

Giving up alcohol can be a huge challenge, however looking at all the benefits that come from giving up can make that change a bit easier.

For those that are struggling with debts, eliminating the expense of alcohol can free up some much needed cash to spend on repaying debts per month. Failing to repay debts on time can have a serious effect on a person’s credit rating, and overall well being if not sorted out.

Therefore if you are a drinker and suffering with debt problems, giving up alcohol can be a healthy solution to you rectifying your debt problem, and increasing your overall health.
